Power and Performance
The 2026 Hyundai Santa Cruz comes in five trims, with two available engines. The SE, SEL, and SEL Activity trims equip a 2.5-liter GDI-MPI four-cylinder engine that outputs 191 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque and pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC®. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is standard for these trims, and HTRAC® all-wheel drive (AWD) optional. Meanwhile, the XRT and Limited trims add a turbocharger to this engine, increasing its potency to 281 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque. These trims equip the same transmission, but get HTRAC standard.
Towing and Hauling
The SEL Activity, XRT, and Limited can tow up to 5,000lbs. All three come standard with 4-pin or 7-pin trailer pre-wiring, and the XRT and Limited also boast a special Tow Mode powertrain setting. With regard to hauling, the bed of this new Hyundai model measures 27.0 cubic feet and has a max payload capacity of 1,411lbs. It's also supremely versatile - not only does it come standard with six tie-down points and a sealed, drainable underfloor bin, but it can also be equipped with optional upgrades such as a 115-volt power outlet and a lockable tonneau cover.
